Tommy V - who knew the curious 13 year-old I used to share my pizza with when coulseling at TLC would turn out to be such a philosophical stud? Well said, and well written. In five more years, those gatherings with your Gustie family will still take place, they will just involve a few more people (more wives and a few "lil gusties"!) Schmidty

Hey Cross - Can't say it any better than that, my friend. Those van wars are exactly what I'm talking about in terms of building friendships. In terms of loosening up, well, I wouldn't know as I was usually at the bottom of the pile trying not to get "whooped" by thugs like you and Shorty. Can't wait to get the squad together next weekend. See you soon. Much love, T.

T, Even though hockey is a TERRIBLE sport, your point is excellent! Tennis has been a great way to bring me and many of my friends together. We need to get a bunch of us together to throw down some of that pizza and pop you are talking about at one of the next Buty events. Also, Buty didn't prepare well for college matches? What? Are you saying an all out wrastlin' war in the van on the way to a match doesn't loosen you up for a match? Of course, Heiden and I always crushed guys like you and Buty there. Anyways, excellent article and KEEP FIGHTING BOOTYLICIOUS! Cross

Nellie! So great to hear from you! Glad you made the Aussie trip and got to see Booty play! Sorry I missed you, I'll be there in 2010 - you up for a return trip? Give my best to your crew and say Hi to Claro. Let's talk soon. As always, look forward to seeing you in MN at TLC this summer. Thanks to you too for your friendship. Love you too - Peace, T.

Well put, Tommy V. Tennis is that way for me, too. I look forward to my annual trip to tennis camp, not only for the great tennis instruction, but more importantly, to connect and reconnect with the many friends I’ve made there throughout the years. Our recent trip to the Australian Open was great because we went friends (wish you were there), but it was even more special because of the friendships and bonds that we made while we were there. Tennis has been at the root of many meaningful moments in my life…so thank you for the reminder that it’s more than just a game...thank you for your friendship... and just so you know, I love you…xoxo...n

these words are so so true - i remember last year a thread was start on andyroddick.com and was called you know your an andy fan when - and loads of the answers were - most of your friends on facebook/myspace and msn or andy fans you have at least 15 andy fans on your mobil phone who are willing to text you the scores when your aseep/at work .i only visit 3 tennis sites this being one of them and have made really good friends off each one , and we have shared the joy and the pain of our players/temas loosing but no one else understands us all they think is the game is a ball going back and forward across a net - how wrong they are
